About
Hello! My name is Joseph Nechleba. Growing up in Erie, Pennsylvania, I graduated from McDowell High School and Cornell University in 2019 with a bachelor’s in Computer Science. After working as a software engineer, I traveled around the world before settling back here in my hometown.
I love playing and sharing music with others, bringing 10+ years of experience on both instruments. Although I am not a professional, I’ve performed with many ensembles as a violinist and guitarist, from being concertmaster of the Erie Junior Philharmonic, to chamber groups, duets, and jam bands. I have had the good fortune to study with great musicians local to Erie, like Irene Cheng and Basil Ronzitti. Taking what I learned from them, my violin and guitar lessons specialize in improvisation and music theory, and I’m here to help students at the beginner through intermediate levels in any genre, whether classical, pop, country, hip-hop, or rock. My goal is to help you understand the music you love, not just at a technical level, but to a point where you can bring it to life yourself.
I am offering violin and guitar lessons for 40$ an hour, or 20$ for half an hour. I will not waste your time, but will focus the lessons so that you are playing and actively learning. If you’re interested, please contact me with the information at the bottom of this page or fill out the contact form from the link here.
